Childcare Centre Alkimos

At Tribe Alkimos, we offer long day care and early learning for children from 6 weeks to 5 years.

Long Day Care That Supports Early Learning

Tribe Early Learning Alkimos supports families living and working in Alkimos and the surrounding northern suburbs. You’ll find our centre at The Gateway Alkimos Shopping Centre, with easy parking that makes drop-off and pick-up simple during busy days. We provide quality childcare and early learning for children from 6 weeks to 5 years, guided by our inquiry-based approach across our baby, toddler, and kindergarten rooms. We’re part of the local community and enjoy connecting children with the world around them through regular excursions and incursions with local businesses and community spaces.

Early Learning Programs at Tribe Alkimos

Every child’s day at Tribe Alkimos looks a little different, because it’s shaped by their age, interests and pace. Our learning environments are designed to feel calm, welcoming and familiar, so children can settle in, build confidence and enjoy their day.

Babies

(0-15 months)
Our baby room supports infants aged 0–15 months and follows each child’s individual routine. Babies enjoy sensory play, music, stories and time to move and explore, supported by familiar educators who help them feel safe and settled throughout the day.

Inquiry-Based Learning at Tribe Alkimos

At Tribe Alkimos, learning is guided by children’s ideas, questions and interests through our inquiry-based learning approach. Rather than following a rigid program, educators pay close attention to what children are curious about and use those moments to shape meaningful learning experiences.

You’ll see children asking questions, experimenting, problem-solving and exploring through play and conversation. Educators support this by listening closely, asking thoughtful questions and extending learning in ways that feel natural, engaging and relevant to each child.

Questions Families Ask About Childcare in Alkimos

What age can my child start at Tribe Alkimos?
We welcome children from 6 weeks old through to 5 years. Our centre has dedicated rooms for each age group – Babies, Tiny Tots, Toddlers, and Kindergarten, so your child is always with peers at a similar stage of development.
Earlier than you might think. Waitlists can be long, particularly for our baby and Tiny Tots rooms. Many families join our waitlist during pregnancy, especially if they’re hoping to return to work by a specific date. It’s never too early to get in touch and register your interest.
Daily fees vary depending on your child’s age and the number of days they attend. Most families are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which can significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs. Get in touch directly, and we can give you an accurate figure based on your family’s situation.
Tribe Alkimos prioritises consistency so children can build strong, familiar relationships with their educators. We don’t hire agency staff, so families see the same familiar faces each week.
Rather than following a set program, our educators pay close attention to what your child is curious about and build learning experiences around those interests. It’s child-led, which means children are genuinely engaged in their learning every day.
